Tension Headache
Tension Headache is the most common type of primary headache. The pain can radiate from the neck, back, eyes or other muscle groups in the body. Tension-type headaches account for nearly 90% of all headaches. They may occur at any age, but are most common in adults and adolescents.
Causes of Tension Headache
- Stress
- Sleep deprivation
- Uncomfortable stressful position and/or bad posture
- Irregular meal time
- Eyestrain
- Caffeine (too much or withdrawal)
- Alcohol use
- Colds and the flu
- Excessive smoking
- Fatigue
- Nasal congestion/sinus infection
Symptoms of Tension Headache
- Dull, pressure-like (not throbbing)
- A tight band or vsie on the head
- All over (no just in one point or one side )
- Worse in scalp, temples, or back of the neck and possibly in shoulders
